Volunteer Opportunities
Committee members and other registered Democrats in the county are encouraged to join one of our six sub-committees, including Campaign, Events, Public Relations, Recruitment, Fair, and Finance & Fundraising. Campaign
Encourages Democratic voter registrations and works to elect qualified Democratic candidates. Get Out the Vote activities include text and phone banking, door knocking, and developing campaign materials for distribution by mail.
Events
Plans and organizes annual events such as the Spring Brunch, Summer BBQ, Fall Banquet, and Holiday Potluck. Participates in community events such as Renaissance Jamboree, DemFest, and PrideAPalooza.
Public Relations
Focuses on spreading the word about local Democratic candidates, Columbia County Democratic party updates, upcoming local events, and the news rural Democrats need to organize in Columbia County and neighboring communities.
Recruitment
Recruits qualified candidates for vacancies in the County Committee as well as local, county, and state offices. Recruits volunteers for Committee events and political campaigns.
Fair
Coordinates the committee's presence at the annual Bloomsburg Fair. Includes choosing merchandise like t-shirts, buttons, and stickers as well as organizing and training volunteers.
Finance & Fundraising
Develops various ways to raise money to keep the County Committee in a good financial state. Includes bi-annual fundraising letter mailings to county Democrats.
